Anna is a user experience designer, researcher, and educator who finds joy in helping multi-disciplinary teams create opportunities for rewarding human-technology collaborations. Anna works with a variety of corporate, startup, and academic clients, teaches graduate students at CMU and co-chairs the Pittsburgh chapter of the Interaction Design Association.
A Leader in Design
Anna is a pragmatic design leader who enjoys helping multi-disciplinary teams create opportunities for rewarding human-technology collaborations. She has worked in digital design roles at some of the most respected organizations. In 2020, Abovyan assumed the role of Director of Digital User Experience at PPG before moving on to her position conducting user research for Google. For a decade prior to that, she led the UX Design team at 3M | M*Modal, speech recognition & natural language understanding company in the healthcare space. Anna is also a co-chair of the IxDA Pittsburgh planning committee, where she helps to organize monthly events aimed at offering local professionals opportunities to stay up to date with the rapidly changing field of interaction design.
Graceful Human-Computer Interactions
Anna is interested in multimodal product ecosystems, graceful human-computer interactions, and thoughtful applications of artificial intelligence. She holds an MS degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University in her home country of Armenia.
